A Closer Look at Ultraframe Ultrasky Roof Lanterns
Installing a roof lantern is an excellent way to bring natural light and air into your home. But not all roof lanterns are created equal, which is why so many people opt for the superior quality of Ultraframe Ultrasky roof lanterns. If you’re looking for a reliable product that will stand up to the elements and last for years to come, read on to learn more about why Ultraframe Ultrasky roof lanterns should be your go-to option.

KEY LANTERN INFORMATION
Rectangular double ended lanterns, with a width up to 4m and a length up to 5.8m*. 25 degree fixed pitch to all four sides, with a thermally broken aluminium ridge body.
Low profile eaves rail (no gutter) designed to be fitted with oversailing 24mm double glazed units (which can be supplied with the Lantern).
Ultrasky is designed around maximum uninterrupted sight lines – glazing bar numbers are reduced (or can be added if you prefer) and the ridge board and hub ends are as unobtrusive as possible.
The thermal performance has been optimised to make it suitable for extensions in domestic properties. Typical U value with 1.2 glass for a 1m wide x 2m long lantern is 1.4 W/m2K.

Well Designed Roof Lantern
Ultraframe Ultrasky roof lanterns are designed with both form and function in mind. They feature sleek lines that provide an attractive look, while also being highly durable and providing maximum insulation when installed properly. The frames have been tested to withstand winds of up to 130 mph, so you can rest assured that your roof lantern will stand up against even the strongest gusts of wind.
HOW TO MEASURE
A timber kerb of 150mm high x 70mm wide (not supplied) must be fitted around the opening in the flat roof – the weatherproofing membrane laps onto the top face of the kerb.
IMPORTANT: SET OUT DIMENSIONS ARE ALWAYS MEASURED TO EXTERNAL FACE OF KERB.

Solid Roof Construction
The construction of these roof lanterns is second-to-none thanks to their robust glazing bars and triple seals, which ensure that your home is properly insulated from outside temperatures and weather conditions. Additionally, the structure also includes an interlocking frame design that helps disperse rainwater down the sides of the frame instead of through it, providing extra protection against water damage or leakage.
ULTRASKY PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
- Rectangular double ended roof lights with a width from 1000-2000mm and a length from 1500-4000mm*
- 25 degree fixed pitch to all four sides
- Glazing bar top in either PVC (white) or Aluminium
- Maximum uninterrupted sight lines with minimum number of bars
- We have selected the ‘Ambi Blue’ product which outperforms most other glass options in all areas.
*Please note width and length dimensions are always defined as to the external face of the timber kerb that Ultrasky products sit on (not supplied and recommended to be 150mm high x 70mm wide)
Our Lanterns are designed to fit on a timber kerb installed inside the roof. This is usually 150mm high x 70mm wide.
The set-out dimensions of our roof lanterns are measured to the external wall of the timber kerb and NOT the size of the cut-out in the flat roof.
In most cases therefore the dimensions of the lantern are calculated as follows:
Length = Length of hole + (2 x Kerb Width)
Width = Width of hole + (2 x Kerb Width)
Example:
Hole 1000mm x 1500mm
Kerb Width 70mm
Overall Dimensions of Lantern: 1140mm x 1640mm
We can offer any size of roof lantern you require so you can either choose the size of lantern first and then cut out the hole in the roof to fit or you can order bespoke sizes to fit the hole.

Ultrasky Lanterns are covered by a 10-year guarantee from date of delivery against discolouration, cracking, shape deterioration and component failure. Please note that the glazing bars and aluminum frames are not covered if they have been subject to aggressive chemical cleaning of any sort. Aluminum sections are guaranteed against bending, cracking and breakage under normal use, within normal environments. Installation, sealing and waterproofing are not covered by the guarantee and are the responsibility of the installer or roofer. Guarantee is void if units have been damaged by the installer using incorrect sealant type (normal silicone sealants damage the special outer coating) or through cleaning with harsh chemicals.
Conservaglass sealed glazing units carry a 10 year unit seal warranty from date of delivery. If a unit seal should fail within the 10-year period, it will be replaced free of charge, provided that:
- The original glass unit is returned for a full in-house examination; and
- The seals have not been damaged during fitting or glazed incorrectly.
We can usually deliver our Skylights within 6-7 working days directly to site for a standard size and colour. For Skylights with coloured internal claddings, the delivery time could be longer.
To ensure that the roof lantern arrives in perfect condition the frame and glass are delivered separately and will require assembly.
Skylights cannot be collected from our factory but can be delivered to a different location if you require.
There may be an additional delivery charge based on non-mainland UK locations. In the event that your order incurs additional charges, you will be contacted by our Customer Service Team at the point your order is being processed.
